Bada Imambara is said to be one of the most visited tourist attraction in Lucknow, mainly for its beauty & religious sentiments attached! This is the reason why we made sure that we visit this place despite ours being a short trip to the city. For me, it was synonymous to grandeur and full of mystery.
It gave the magnificent Nawabi vibe the moment we entered, because of the vastly spread construction & enormous structures all around us.
The monument is hugely popular for its ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’ (labyrinth) & for the fact that no wood or metal has been used for the construction of the architectural marvel! Will definitely leave you awestruck.
- Since it is a religious place, women are required to cover their heads while entering the Imambara, so you can either carry something along or take it at the main gate.
- Would suggest you to chose a pleasant day to visit because there is too much to explore & the heat tends to exhaust you, and this is the reason we had to skip the ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’!
- Make sure you are not carrying too much of stuff along, a backpack with a water bottle & something to munch-on would be sufficient.
How to Reach Bara Imambara
With Ola & Uber easily available in Lucknow, booking a cab via an app is the utmost feasible option available! If not that, you can easily hire an autorickshaw.
